Welcome to Plymouth, Minnesota! I have created this page to show you how lack of proper lighting laws can affect your neighborhood. If it doesn't look like this now, it soon will. How would you like to have this sign posted next or actually in your neighborhood?

This is an actual sign in Plymouth, MN, a suburb of Minneapolis. The population of Plymouth is approximately 45,000. It is directly outside of a residential area. This company
uses grow lights during certian times of the year, which lights up the entire city. There are approximately 30 greenhouses, each about 50 feet x 300 feet. Granted, when this
company started, there were no houses in the area, but the city has grown and now is on top of it. You can see the light dome from this facility from over 30 miles away.

The City of Plymouth gave permits to build these additional greenhouses 2 years ago. No nighttime tarps or covers. Nothing except more light pollution. Remember, this is just a new section. See the vacant land? That is
owned by this company so we'll probably see more greenhouses there soon.

Here is an example of what the City of Plymouth has done with street lighting. You can't really see it in this picture, but it is a sodium light with a 2 foot x 3 foot clear globe on the top.
Those greenhouses you saw above are directly behind this house and about 5 miles away. You can hit a golf ball at 2:00am in the backyard and see it land 200 yards away!
