A letter from a Concerned Citizen

Mr Tosches,

Your column titled "Adding Streetlights Another Bright Idea" was very cute. You must NOT have received a copy of "the letter" I sent to the Council Members in your column. I have included it at the bottom of this message. (Click here to view the letter)

As you will see, my issue is LIGHT TRESSPASS. Regarding the issue of birds flying into things, that is one of many downsides of light pollution. However, you dramatized that issue quite well.

My initiative has to do with creating some sort of Outdoor Lighting Ordinance, NOT saving a couple of birds that may be killed because of urban development. I have included a picture that shows what CAN happen without an ordinance. This is about 5 miles away from my house. How would you like to have that sign close to you?
